About Curlewis
Curlewis is one of the fastest-growing suburbs of the Greater City of Geelong. This owes much to its advantageous location, just 17 kilometres east of the city or less than 20 minutes’ drive.
Curlewis occupies approximately 20.3 square kilometres on the scenic Bellarine Peninsula, wedged between Clifton Springs and Leopold. Perched at nearly 49 metres above sea level, Curlewis offers amazing vistas of Port Phillip Bay in the north.
A Regional Growth Centre
These fabulous bay views and the superb location of Curlewis are just two of the selling points for its housing estates. Market interest in this suburb is also drawing strength from the Curlewis Urban Growth Area that began construction in 2010.

Large open spaces courtesy of Curlewis’ parks and reserves make living in this suburb a refreshing experience. A new spot to visit is the Perry Cherry Park located next to Griggs Creek flowing onwards into the bay.
The beach area of Curlewis can easily be accessed via Hermsley Road. This road and other streets arterial to Portarlington Road can also unlock entry to the Curlewis wineries. These vineyards have notably become popular venues for weddings.
Another outdoor draw, particularly for runners and cyclists, stretches on the southern flank of Curlewis. This is the Bellarine Rail Trail running a 35-kilometre path between South Geelong and Queenscliff.
Top-rated Curlewis Golf Club
This suburb is also prominent on the radar screen of golfers, as it is home to the highly rated Curlewis Golf Club on Portarlington Road. It welcomes non-club members to its 18-hole layout that offers a round 6,150 meters from its championship tees. The club provides a modern, expansive driving range and a clubhouse for bistro dining.
Because of its many unique selling points, Curlewis attracts plenty of new residents. Its population count grew 601.8 per cent to 1,565 in 2016 from just 223 in 2011. The median house price in this suburb is estimated at $650,000 for three- to four-bedroom homes.
